OPA® and OMA® translate to 'Grandfather' and 'Grandmother' in a variety of languages. Our syrah wines are dedicated to my OPA & OMA who escaped war torn Germany to make way for a better life in the United States. Through your enjoyment, their spirit lives on.

All of our Syrah grapes are sourced from the renowned BIEN NACIDO Vineyard in central California where we manage a single but perfectly situated hillside acre. We prune and space the vines in a way that results in extremely low yields but delivers an explosion of flavor. The result is best left for you to experience directly from a bottle of OPA or OMA wine.

Time has been on our family's side, and we believe it is on our wine's side as well. After 34 months of aging in new French oak, we produce a syrah that is ready to drink immediately but will benifit from long term cellaring. OMA Syrah Rose' is only produced in years where we have enough yield to merit this limited edition rose'.
